This notice covers the data practices of our site, the independent information resource you're reading now at Blockspins — not the data practices of the operator itself, which are set out on its own platform. We collect very little, and this page explains exactly what, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible for your data
We are the data controller for any information gathered through this portal — browsing data, cookie identifiers, and anything you submit through a contact form. We do not control, and have no visibility into, any data the operator itself collects when you register or play on its platform. Those are two separate relationships, and this notice speaks only to ours.
What reaches us
Two categories of information reach our systems. The first is technical: your device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, and pages viewed, gathered through standard analytics and cookie technology. The second is anything you volunteer — typically your name and email address, and whatever message you type, when you contact us through our editorial inbox.
We do not ask for, and have no means of collecting, payment details, account credentials or identity documents. Those only ever pass to the operator directly, through its own registration and verification process.
Purposes of processing
We use technical data to understand how the site is used and to keep it functioning correctly across devices. We use contact-form submissions solely to respond to the query raised. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest for analytics, and consent for anything you actively submit or for non-essential cookies, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who else sees it
We share limited technical data with analytics and hosting providers who process it on our behalf, strictly for keeping the site running and measurable. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not pass your details to the operator or to any other gambling business. Any third-party processor we use is bound to handle data only for the purpose we specify.
Your UK GDPR rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, and to request erasure. You can also ask us to restrict processing, request a portable copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis we rely on.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you remain unsatisfied with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent supervisory authority for data protection.
How long it is kept
We retain technical and analytics data only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, and contact-form correspondence for a limited period after the matter is resolved, after which it is deleted. We do not keep data indefinitely on the basis that it might become useful later.
Protecting minors
This portal, and the gambling content it discusses, is intended strictly for adults aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it promptly. Parents sharing a household device with a minor may also wish to look at parental-control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio.
Changes to this notice
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date, so it's worth checking back occasionally rather than assuming nothing has moved.
Questions about this notice can be sent to [email protected] at any time.
